House Boat Soccer

2007. Middle of the desert. Middle of the lake. Middle of the summer. A good place to be if you have the wherewithal to make it out there. Lake Powell is the result of the damming of the Colorado River, and an improbable brilliant blue pool surrounded by sand and sandstone. I could stare at the place for days, which is what I was doing mostly. As luck would have it, though, there were eight teenagers on the boat with me.

After several days of skiing and swimming and fishing and skiing and swimming and floating and tubing and swimming and eating, the teenagers were beginning to get bored with our waterborne paradise. After kicking the omnipresent soccer ball off the side of the boat one day, they started getting goofy, from the sun supposedly, and I got out the video camera.
