How does anyone survive the teens?

LOCATION: wherever we may roam , Middle Tennessee

YEAR: 1991

A buddy of mine's father owned more than one house around town. At some point the plan was for his mother to come and live in the extra house but at the time it was just a place to store an extra car. Bad idea. A group of us snuck over to the other house and took the car our for a night of joyridding all over middle Tennessee's many backroads.

We were stupid, none of us even had a drivers license. I remember shooting bottle rockets out the window and throwing beer cans at street signs. When your traveling down the road, you can simply hold a lit bottle rocket out the window and the rushing air will push the sparks away from you. I made the mistake of lighting one just as we were stopping at a closed convienence store. I held the rocket as long as I could but the embers became too much and I let it go as we drove off. It fired straight into a gas pump. Sure the chances of it setting off a MacGyver-like explosion were slim but we were a little scared. Needless to say the gas station didn't erupt.

At another point we nearly drove off the road into a stream while searching for somewhere to releave ourselves.

So what's that got to do with this or any song. Nothing to you probably but the image I remember most that night was my friend in the front seat doing a comical rendition of Madonna's face framing from the video for Vogue.

I tell you, it's amazing anyone survives to see 20.
