My friends and I had spent the whole night, awake and under the influence of a few to many energy drinks. We past the hours of endless darkness in complete hysterical bliss. Laughing endlessly at things the sun would reveal to have no comedic value. Wondering with out destination or even an idea of direction we found ourselves attempting to come up with the best stunt of the night. We found that stunt in this song.

As midnight came about and the full moon rose, a tantalizing orb of light, our illusive illuminating guide. Intoxicated by the shear volatile and explosive nature of the night we decided to make our mark on this evening.

I began to sing Thriller:

" It's Close To Midnight And Something Evil's Lurking In The Dark
Under The Moonlight You See A Sight That Almost Stops Your Heart
You Try To Scream But Terror Takes The Sound Before You Make It
You Start To Freeze As Horror Looks You Right Between The Eyes,
You're Paralyzed"

As the lyrics poured out of my mouth (nothing like Micheal Jackson or anyone who can carry a note) everyone began to do the dance. Waving their arms above their heads, we walked down 3rd street. Though we could have been walking safely on the sidewalk, we, in all our rebellious arrogance, walked side-by-side in the very middle of the street. Cars, slowed by our dancing pace, honked endlessly.

Finally we were made to move by the hollering of angry drivers and the threat of the police being called. The song died and and the dance moves slowed. We walked on the sidewalk, still yelling and aquiring rather shocked and disgusted looks from the a conformist in their pristine cars.

Stupid, immature, and so much fun. This night was epic in its adolescent pleasures. I doubt I shall ever forget this night and its not a memory I would trade for anything.

Rachel Burke said: This is so funny, I actually have a similar memory that I wrote about to Thriller too, my friend Katrina did the exact same thing, doing the Thriller dance in the car and putting on a concert for all the pedestrians! haha (3/26/2008)
