One summer in between semesters in college, I went home for a few months to relax. I didn’t have a boyfriend and decided to stay single and just date around and have fun for once. I ended up meeting this guy named Louis who was in the Army and didn’t go to college. He was very kind to me and would take me out on fun little dates throughout the summer.

One of the first times we went out on a date, he called me up in the afternoon and asked me what I was doing that night. He told me he had an extra Toby Keith concert ticket and wanted me to go along with him. Of course I said yes because I love going to concerts. Since the concert was two hours away, we had fun in the car singing Toby Keith songs and eating snacks. When we got there, we had to bring in a blanket it with us because it was at an amphitheater. I thought it would be fun because it would give us a chance to cuddle on the blanket and enjoy the music. As the concert started though, everyone ended up standing. We had to do the same if we wanted to see Toby Keith singing on stage. It turned out well though because Louis ended up standing next to me and holding my hand.

As the concert went on, Toby Keith started singing the song “Who’s your Daddy?” At the beginning of the song, Toby sings a line, “Here you come knocking on my door baby, tell me what you got on your mind. I guess all those college boys went home for the summertime…” At that moment, Louis gave me a big hug and said the song was about me and him. The whole concert was great because that song was the start of us dating for the whole summer.
