EvergreenLOCATION: My Bedroom , HoustonYEAR: 1996TAGS: No Code, Harvest, Pearl Jam, breezePUBLISHED: July 19, 2008I was in 10th grade. Pearl Jam had been my favorite band for a long time by then. I love every single song on No Code and this album solidified this bands place in my heart. There is a very deep sense of reflection on this record and I distinctly remeber feeling the weight Eddie's words and the determined drive of Stone's and Mike's guitars. Off He Goes felt so down home to me. The sound of the chords was a lot slower...like gently bouncing down a country road instead of barreling down the highway. I bought this cd and immediately ran upstairs to hear it. As this song came on I opened the windows in my upstaris bedroom to let the breeze in. My curiosity of the world and yearning for poetic experience had never really been touched like that before. This song also made me want to seek out other influences of Pearl Jam's that played this same style. Songs like this helped to be able to recognize the lush landscape of Neil Young's Harvest and other albums.
