First Time Hearing The Iconic SongLOCATION: Frat Party , BostonYEAR: 1992TAGS: nirvana, frat, spirit, party, iconic, teenPUBLISHED: July 19, 2008Everybody remembers where they were the very first time they heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Well for me, I was at a house party in Boston, freshman year of college early 1992. There were a couple hundred kids crammed into a small house, and a massive sound system booming. Up until about midnight, the party was primarily frat guys and their girlfriends singing along to various hair metal songs, such as whitesnake, ratt, bon jovi, etc. Then, all of a sudden, this new song came on, and no one had heard anything like it. The energy was there, the passion was there, and the whole place started going nuts! People were moshing in the halls, jumping up and down and screaming. It was just an incredible moment, when I could see in the future, and see that this band was about to take over the globe.
