Uh Oh; I Think He Hates This!LOCATION: Target Center , MinneapolisYEAR: 2005TAGS: dad, elton, john, concertPUBLISHED: April 21, 2008Y'all know how much I love Elton John. Well, the last time he came in concert, I once again had the opportunity to get premium seats on the floor. I also had a really great sales rep who could get good seats as well. So, my Aunt and I were on the floor while my Dad, Mom, sister, brother-in-law and 2 friends took the other seats. Now, my parents had never been to see Elton so I was hoping they would like it as much as Idid. Aunt Loretta and I were in Row 13 on the floor and we could actually see where everyone else was; they were just a few rows up from the floor almost directly to the side of us. The concert began and Loretta and I were on our feet from the first magical note. Throughout the whole show, I kept glancing up to the other group. I nudged Loretta and said "I don't think he's liking this", referring to my Dad. He wasn't dancing; he wasn't even standing! I kept telling myself it wasn't my problem and enjoyed the rest of the show. After the concert, we were to meet the rest of our group in the lobby so we made our way from the main floor out to the lobby where my sister found us. "Everyone's over here!" she said as we started to follow. I said "Dad hated it, didn't he?". "Are you kidding? He loved it!". I was shocked! He loved it? We all re-connected to head out to the car and my Dad couldn't stop talking about the show. My brother-in-law chimed in as well and they went back and forth about what was their favorite part. It was funny to hear 2 guys (manly men!) chatter on about the concert. The next day, I went to see my Dad at work. He said to me, "I think that was one of the best things I have ever seen in my life. Elton is totally amazing!" and he wouldn't stop. Then he says, "Do you have "Peachtree Road"?" and of course, I already did. "I think I need to get that album." So on my way home, I stopped at Target and picked up the CD. Monday morning, I walked into his office and tossed the CD on his desk. "What's this?" he asked. "A gift" I told him and he grinned from ear to ear. He didn't hate it at all.

Haha I want to get my dad to go to a concert with me.
We've also gone to see Neil Diamond together. Not nearly as good as Elton! (4/22/2008)
