Happy Birthday Sis!

Hey Sister...I know today is your birthday and you're way the heck over in Instanbul. I'm not sure how well all those candles will fit on top of a Turkish Delight. Let me know how well that works out will ya?

Ok, so you're already laughing I'm sure. But c'mon. You played this song and album for probably every day for a good year or more. It traumatized me. I remember you playing Rocky Mountain High on your little turntable in the room your shared with Rebecca. The one with all the pets she'd bring home and keep in cages that would start to stink up the house. I have one particular memory of you singing this loud and proud from your room. Where the John Denver posters hung above your bed. Oh my...how sad...but true. You loved JD. I think he was one of your first boy crushes. Funny, but I think listening to JD had some kind of lasting impact on us. It may explain why we both love the mountains and Colorado so much.

So here's a Happy Birthday wish to you going out across the Altantic and Mediterranean sea. Hope it's real swell and we see you back in the states soon. Here's John to sing the full song to you...play and enjoy.

Love...your little bro.

Elise said: yes, Yes, YES! I confess. It was always John and I, together, planning to save the World, or at least the whales. Your memory is too good but thanks for the revival May plaid shirts and jeans live on forever. Love, your Sis. (10/3/2008)
