i've never been fully convinced by magic, but i have had a little bit of faith put into my soul. in high school, i remember that whenever i would be driving back from m.s.'s house, i would always put on the radio
and for some magic reason, "sea of love" by the honey drippers would come on. i have always loved this song, mostly for the fact that it is quite possibly the smoltziest song from the 80's (outside of rick astley, naturally). but the fact that witout fail, if i was driving back, this song would play on the radio.

i found out last year that this was a common habit for the particular dj at that station to play the song in the time block, but i still like to think it some weird cosmic music force trying to make my heart soar.

incidentally, when i saw juno and the cat power version  song came on, i smiled and it made me think of this song from back in high school when i loved it passionately.
