Dance PartyLOCATION: Bell In Hand , Boston, MAYEAR: 2004TAGS: friends, britney spears, dancingPUBLISHED: March 15, 2008If you know me, then you know this one fact about me: I don’t dance. Unless, of course, I have had a LOT to drink, in which case, I somehow transform into a dancing machine. I still can’t comprehend it. For my 22nd birthday, my friends and I all went into a bar in Boston to have a few drinks. A few drinks turned into a few more drinks, and then turns into shots of Jagermeister. Very bad things tend to happen when I drink Jagermeister. I’ll leave it at that. There was a group of about fifteen of us, and we all sat at a table by a giant open window. After a few too many drinks, we thought it would be funny to start letting people into the bar through this window. Then a guy pulled up to the window on one of those bikes that have a backseat attached to the back of it so he can drive people around Boston. We proceeded to climb out the window and go for a little ride with him around town. After climbing back in the window and proceeding to drink a few more shots, Britney Spear’s “Toxic” came on the radio. Now like I mentioned, I don’t under any circumstances dance, unless the circumstance involves excessive amounts of booze. This turned out to be one of those circumstances. I marched up to the nearby pole, climbed up on top of the pole mount, and proceeded to turn into Britney Spears. Or so I thought. I swung around that pole like I owned it, flipping my hair around like I was Britney herself. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my friends laugh so hard. I then proceeded to throw up the minute I got home, but that’s a story for another day. My friend, Liz, actually wrote me a post-birthday card, calling me her 'little Britney'. Liz is infamous for her well-known line, “I want to dance!” so anytime someone dances like there’s no tomorrow, Liz will look at you like a proud mother. I’m not sure if my friends think of that night whenever they hear “Toxic”, but I sure do.
