I love my dad. Some of my best and earliest memories are of long car rides, getting a special treat in the form of my dad's favorite gum (spearmint), the way his car smelled (which I learned later was how someplace smells after smoking in it :P), tie-dye shirts, camping and Frisbee golf, always accompanied by the Grateful Dead. My first concert was The Grateful Dead when I was 3. By the time I was 9 I'm sure I'd heard almost every show and knew the words to lots of their songs. Now that I've moved out and grown up, I'm beginning to understand just how much my dad totally rocks, and how much fun growing up playing Frisbee was. So now and again, I'll turn on American Beauty, load a bowl and smile in thanks to how unobtrusively awesome my dad is. :)
