With U2 At the BeachLOCATION: Beach House , Outer Bank, NCYEAR: 1998TAGS: friends, middle schoolPUBLISHED: April 25, 2008I went to the beach for a week with some friends right before my freshman year of high school. We were staying with my friend Jean's family and having a great time. I remember being so close to the beach that we walked back and forth throughout the day. It really was one of those things I'll never forget. I remember one day it rained and poured basically all day long so we were stuck in the house all day, not something you want at the beach. Jean's dad was a huge U2 fan and decided that he wanted to play U2 all day long. I like U2, but that drove me crazy. The only song that I could listen to over and over again was "With or Without You," and we did. We listened to that song on repeat over and over again. I have no idea why we did that, but as soon as this song comes on the radio, I am immediately taken back to that living room and the wicker furniture we sat on while playing cards all day away from the rain.
