Olympic ConcertLOCATION: Olympic Venue , Salt Lake City, UTYEAR: 2002TAGS: High School, Concerts, BryanPUBLISHED: April 1, 2008Out of all of the concerts I've been to in my lifetime, I've been to half of them with my brother Bryan. My dad is an Olympic fanatic and so when the Winter Olympics came to Salt Lake City in 2002, he was estatic and bought tickets to every event possible. He also bought every pin possible including multiples of the green jello. One of the tickets he bought was to some big celebration/concert in the middle of the week at a outdoor venue in Salt Lake, and the featured singer was Nelly Furtado. I not suprisingly went with Bryan and even though we both hate Nelly Furtado's voice, actually enjoyed ourselves. I remember it vividly- Nelly was wearing something that looked like leg warmers on her arms and just dressed a little funny. We didn't know the first three songs, and then this one came on. We sang "I'm Like a Bird" at the top of our lungs and flapped our little arms like we really were birds. The rest of the concert was mediocre, but that song will always be engrained in my memory.
