Freshman Halloween Party

LOCATION: May Hall , Provo, UT

YEAR: 2003

TAGS: friends, Freshman Year

PUBLISHED: April 20, 2008

I couldn't figure out what I wanted to dress up, I never have been one to come up with a great costume idea. I finally decided to go with the cop out dress in all black, paint on some whiskers, and throw on some ears and go as a cat or mouse. I met some of the most amazing people freshman year but hadn't really met any of them yet. It was Halloween night, and I went with some other girls from my hall that I wasn't really close with, yet. But I remember it was the best Halloween party I've ever been to in my entire life. It was a costume dance party, and I danced like nobody was watching, which was hard for me. Everyone in my hall was very forgiving to the girl who couldn't dance; they just didn't care. I remember one of the most memorable moments of the entire night was when the song "Bohemian Rapsody" came on, everyone in the entire room kind of stopped. Everyone, even the people that weren't dancing or doing anything before came and stood in a circle with their arms linked, and we all swayed and sang at the top of our lungs. From swaying back and forth at the beginning of the song to banging our heads at the end, we were all in tune together. I felt like I belonged, and my freshman year started that night. I remember seeing the pictures and videos from that night and thinking- wow, our ward came together as friends that night.
