I had a lot of friends my freshman year of high school and almost always had plans. There was one guy, Mark, that I ended up doing things with every once in a while because someone else planned it, but we never planned to do anything together. I was always inviting him to do things with me and my friends, and he almost always came. But he never invited me to do anything with him. I wasn't doing anything else that night so I decided to go see the movie "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" with my friends Tilde and Kema. We got to the theater and within ten minutes of the moving starting I had a missed call and voicemail. The previews were still showing so I went out in the hallway and listened to the voicemail. Of course, it was from Mark asking me if I wanted to go do something tonight. The only time he ever called me to go do something, and I was watching some dumb chick flick at the dollar theater. I remember being so frustrated with the movie and wanting it to be over as soon as it started. Now I don't think the movie is really that bad, but I remember hating it throughout because I wasn't getting to hang out with Mark. The song, "Perfect" by Simple Plan came on, and all I could think about was what perfect timing I had. I had no way to leave and by the time I got home that night, he was already miniature golfing or whatever he'd decided to do that night without me. Yep, it was perfect.
