Youth Group Trip

It was the annual youth group mission trip to Washington DC. We stayed, as always,in the basement of achurch called The Pilgrimage. Mostly it was the junior high youth group, and a few senior highs, which I was among. During the day we were all business, working at soup kitchens and helping at the food bank, doing work for The Pilgrimage. At night it was madness. 30 kids running wild in a church basement, doing the human pyramid,having impromtu guitar jam sessions,screaming their lungs out, till at least 1.

One night of nuttiness culminated in this song. Someone had brought the CD and put it on the stereo in the hall. At full maximum volume. And 30 voices screamed the lyrics at the top of their voices. The song was so epic. I'd never heard it before, but I joined in. It was deafening and made my ears ring. Its one of my favorite youth group memories.

Man, took some googling to track down this song! Holy cow! For years I've wondered what that song was. Glad I found it!
