I probably heard her on the radio and fell in love. The song Dreamlover was my favorite. I was 8 years old. I took the money I had saved and bought a tape of her album Music Box. I played it incessantly. We had this blanket with daisies on it, and I would spread it out on the floor of my room. Then I would crank up Dreamlover and roll around on the blanket, pretending I was her in the music video, rolling in the field of flowers. I had an alarm clock/tape player, and I would set it to play Dreamlover every morning before I went to school.
