Songs Of Summer Camp Reprise

LOCATION: Camp Hanover , Mechanicsville VA

YEAR: 1997

TAGS: friends, singing, camp

PUBLISHED: June 2, 2008

My second summer at Camp Hanover was full of memories. In addition to Backstreet Boys, the other song we sang all week was Blue Moon. We sang it every night before we went to bed. Sometimes we sang it in our best voices, other times we howled like dying cats: "Beeellluuuueee meeeuuuuooonnnn...." We heard the boys in the cabin across the way yelling at us to shut up. Somehow the song was connected to two boys who had mooned the Ashleys at camp the previous summer. I remember one of the Ashleys saying, "Wouldnt it be funny if they had painted their butts blue?"
