Spring Musical

The spring musical was Pippin, and I worked on the stage crew. My best friend Amy was a first time "crewie" too. I had the best time, and I wish to high heaven I remembered all my experiences. Its truly sad I have forgotten them, and I miss them. I want to remember this when I am old.

The cast had nearly everything memerized by the time the crew began work on the show. I worked on the show every nightfor 2 weeks. I dont even remember what crew I was on. The lead roles were played by Mark (Pippin), Lanaya (Catherine), and Chase (Leading Player).

Over the course of my crew duties, I fell head over heels for Mark. He was hot man, and he could sing. He had the most heavenly voice, Amy thought so too, and we would swoon when he sang Corner Of The Sky. That was my favorite song from the show.

In the drama room we would burst out singing Pippin songs, during evening rehearsals, and sometimes during the day inclass. I do remember standing up at the back table and belting out Magic To Do. Then our teacher would yell at us to be quiet.

The first time we did a full dress rehearsal, we snickered when we saw what Chase was wearing. Amy leaned down and whispered in my ear, "He looks like a gay male stripper." I fell off my chair laughing. God bless Chase, he was really nice and a great performer.

Of course I was more focused on Mark than Chase. I took any chance I had to talk to him, about anything.

The show ended with a bang, a sellout audience.

My friends and I had gotten into the rountine several months previously of going to Mary's house every Friday after school. All of us had worked on Pippin, and I remember playing out the entire show in the backyard.
