BT I Love YouLOCATION: Fur , Washington DCYEAR: 2007TAGS: fan, dance, celebrity, DJ, clubPUBLISHED: June 2, 2008Clubbing in DC never gets old. In fact it just gets more exciting every time. Hence why I was thrilled that we were going to see BT live at Fur. I had loved BT for so long. He is a brilliant composer, amazing producer, has a gorgeous and sexy voice, and apparently teaches his 3 year old daughtermusicproduction. How can you not love him? Tiesto had just come out with a new album, and one of the tracks, Break My Fall, was a collaboration with BT and featured him on lead vocals. The reaction on the dance forums was not the greatest, but I always liked that song. Another night at Fur....it had been WAY too long since my last visit. This time Matt, also a huge BT fan, was with us, and it was his first time clubbing. We were together on the dance floor the whole night. The opening DJs played an awesome set. BT started next, and he was so excited. I could tell. He was clapping and getting the crowd into it. He played mostly electro and techno, which surprised me. He's so well-known as a trance artist. He played a remix of Somnambulist, which Matt and I knew, and then....he produced a microphone from nowhere and sang Break My Fall live. I nearly lost my mind. I screamed the lyrics along with him. He also sang another song he did with Tiesto, Love Comes Again, and another song I didnt know. When it was over the place went nuts. He led the whole club in singing happy birthday to DJ Monk before ending for good. I wanted to meet BT, badly, so I made a mad dash for the DJ booth entrance. I saw him at the top of the stairs, yelled at him, "BT I love you!" and then he left. What? Then I noticed all the clubbers in a mob, reaching up into the booth, calling to BT, clamoring for autographs. Jon told me I'd have a better chance over there so we went over.I had a stuffed animal that was thrown into the crowd (the night was a benefit for the National Wildlife Federation) and I gave it to Jon. He held it up, waiting for BT to sign it. I called up to him, "I love your music. Youre amazing." He took the stuffed animal, signed it, and handed it back to Jon, who gave it to me. I did notice that he stole my Sharpie, which I was fond of. But hey, how often do you get your pen stolen by a global superstar dance artist? We went back to our friends. I turned back to BT, who was signing autographs with my Sharpie. "BT!" I yelled across the room, pointing at him. "I love you! I love you!" He looked at me slightly amused.
