When I was a kid, my dad owned a hardware store. I remember he used to sell those cheesy cassette tapes, mostly compilations, with various old stuff on them. My mom would grab one every once in a while if there was some good stuff on it, and I remember searching through the cassettes whil goofing around in the store one day and asking my dad if I could have one because it had this song on it. It had some other stuff on it as well such as Bon Jovi, Queen, ABBA, but I pretty much only cared about the Ghostbusters theme. I loved the movie, cartoon series and had a bunch of the action figures.

I remember listening to this cassette with my mom in her car early in the mornings on our way to school. I remember asking her to rewind the song over and over on the way, though she would usually only tolerate two or three times at the most. I remember listening to the song so much and talking with my mom about the annoying lady who screams "Ghostbusters" during the chorus and as the song fades out. She really stands out at the fade-out as she screams it in a high-pitched voice.

I can't believe my mom put up with listening to that song almost every day on the way to school.
