I was in a deep sleep, one summer vacation morning, when I suddenly began to dream. My nine-year-old imagination developed a strange world of alien invasions, with me as a prominent heroine. There was something different about this dream, however. Much different from the typical odd dreams I had before. There was a swelling of music that I could not name, like a soundtrack. Every image in my dream was carefully mapped out as if it were a film. Right down to the close ups, medium shots, camera movements and precise editing as my character battled and escaped from these alien invaders. The soundtrack tore at my heart strings, filling me with great despair as I watched my character suffer peril after peril. Thom Yorke's haunting voice had me cry out in my sleep as he sang "Rain Down, rain down on me." When it seemed the dream would be a tragedy, I woke up. My oldest brother had been listening to the song while getting ready for school that morning.Instantly, I had the desire to make the dream into a real film. I pulled out my crayons and notepad. I began scrawling the plans for it, humming the song.

It was because of this dream, with this haunting song, that I swore to myself that I would become a filmmaker. I knew I had to be one, in any way, shape, or form. The song, much like a theme to my life, pops up at the most opportune moments, ever present no matter how much I grow and change. It is always there, reminding me of what I must do. Paranoid Android reminds me of my destiny.
