My First ConcertLOCATION: The Garden , Boston, MAYEAR: 2001TAGS: U2, boston, fleet center, first concertPUBLISHED: February 26, 2008My first real concert ever was seeing U2 play in Boston when I was in 9th grade. I knew all their hits, but not much of their non-radio stuff. At one point they played this smooth, slow, emotional song that I didn't recognize. I loved it immediately. I later found out that it was "In a Little While." To be honest, I really can't stand much of U2 anymore. Every once in a while, I'll throw a song on, and it is almost always this one. I even learned it note-for-note on the guitar, and still play that to this day, sometimes without even realizing I'm doing it. Listening to it reminds me of my first concert, which was completely different than the types of shows I see now. At that time, I thought stadium and arena shows with tickets for $85.00 was the norm. Boy was I wrong, and I'm glad. I haven't spent more than $25.00 on a concert ticket in years, and the venues I visit usually only fit one or two thousand. Nevertheless, I remember that U2 night fondly. This song always brings me back.
