The Bar SerenadeLOCATION: Ellie's Place , TorranceYEAR: 2004TAGS: bartender, bar, music, ellies placePUBLISHED: March 7, 2008I was a bartender at a bar called "Ellie's Place" in Torrance, CA. The place was home to many strange, fun and colorful people. I had these three customers, Danny, Tommy & Brian,  and they would put money in the juke box and play music for me all the time. I was feeling down one night, and about to quit the job when the three of those guys decided they better do something to cheer me up, they did alright! They thought it would be funny to "perform" this song for me.  Tommy cranked up the juke box and Danny lifted me up onto the bar to sit, while the three of them sang this song to me, loud and clear I tell you! This little "show" was so corny but so sweet. They all had used their beer bottles as mics, Danny got down on one knee while Tommy and Brian swayed back and forth while singing. It was absolutely hysterical! I will never forget that I don't think. Everytime I hear this song now, either from Rightous Brothers or even Hall & Oats version, I think of the time I was "serenaded" at work. It is really great when you know you are cared about, have great friends and people who love you all around. Great night and great song!
