I love every song madonna has ever recorded, but this song holds a special memory for me. I was 18 and pregnant. I remember hearing this song and thinking to myself, I should record it onto a tape and slip it under my dad's bedroom door, really I did!

I think every teenager dreads this kind of announcement, especially with a Catholic father! I was madly in love with my boyfriend, soon to be husband and found myself thrown into instant motherhood. For me there was just no option. I was having this baby regardless of what friends or family thought.

I would sit in my room at night and sing this song to myself and my "daughter" all the time. Reassuring her and myself that all was going to be OK. I made that promise to her and kept it. I was soon married and had a beautiful little girl. I didn't get corny and name her Madonna or anything like that, but everytime I hear that song now I definately think of her.

I have been married for 21 years now and am still continuing to keep my promise made to her. Madonna's songs have so much meaning and life in them. I think you could just about pick any song from her and relate somehow to it.

Now that I have said that, I am certain I will find another song from her that holds just as important of a memory as "Papa Don't Preach".
