This song holds something powerful in my heart. I actually thought about NOT writing about it, then I realized I would be doing an injustice to not only the song, but myself too. I am a real person who obviously feels things way too much, but whatever!

My husband, let's just call him "Rufus", that's not his name, but because it is a funny name, and I am a funny person, I like the name! Anyway, something happened somewhere in our life, not even sure if it involvedour marraigereally, but it was a sad and dark time. There was an aura about our relationship that just seemed sad.

My husband seemed sad. I heard this song and immediately knew that I had to dedicate it tohim, I don't even know why (he doesn't either!) but I did. "Rufus" always loved the pretenders, so it seemed appropriate as a band to make ours. During this rough time of his, I decided that I would dedicate the song to him, to show him that I would always be on his side, always care about his feelings and always be there for him, no matter what.

"Rufus" is not a very sentimental person, he is also not one of those touchy, feely kind of guys...In fact, he is often times very difficult to love! But I love him. The fact that he never seemed opposed to me making this my song to him, it just stuck. I am actually kind of glad it did to, because now every time I hear it, I get a little smile on my face.

So many years have went by since theday that I dedicated that song, I sure wish I could remember what it was that had him torn up, but the fact that I still remember this song,THAT time, it just had to be big. This means the memory is big too and kudos to the Pretender's for making such a big hit!
