I believe I was about 11 years old.  My parents were divorced and I had many issues with my father leaving me, that is how it seemed anyway.  He came to visit me one day to attempt to explain my feelings to me.

As he always would when he would come to visit, we went to go "buy me" something. I was obsessed with "Sad Eyes" from Robert John.  I would sit in my room and cry everytime I heard this song. So when he arrived I asked him to take me to Wherehouse Music to buy the album, he did and I must have played that silly song for 3 months straight!

It is funny how certain songs trigger certain memories, even when the song content has nothing to do with the events in your life.  I believe this song is about a couple's affair, they have to stop seeing eachother because the "wife or girlfriend" is coming home. I interpeted it to my father leaving us.

Sad song for a sad time I guess.  I probably will never forget it though.
