Who the heck is Guster?LOCATION: UNH Student Center, Durham, New HampshireYEAR: 1997TAGS: Guster, Live showsPUBLISHED: January 8, 2008It was one of those days where we wanted to do something fun, but were out of ideas. I think it was a Thursday or Friday afternoon. We were walking by this small room, about the size of a large living room in the UNH Student Center.
There were these 2 guys outside literally taping a sign on the door that said: Free Show 7 pm Guster None of us had ever heard of Guster, but they looked cool and people were starting to mill about in the hall. They seemed to know something we didn't. We came back about 8PM to what was (and still is) one of the best live shows I have ever been to. These guys rocked that place. The original lyrics, great guitar...everything about them was great. Like most of these start-up bands, they would have a long way to go to get to fame. I think it was several years before I ever heard anything about them again. Last week, my friend sent me a link to a Guster show in Orlando, spouting about how I 'had' to go see them. I kind of laughed to myself, I know, I already have.
