Remember those good ole' cassette tapes? CD's were not in yet so everyone was jamming to boom boxes with their cassette tapes tucked inside.

I remember when I was 7 years old and my brother was 4 when my parents purchased a Michael Jackson cassette. I don't remember too many of the songs on there but the main song I do remember was Beat It! It was widespread since it was always on the radio.

I remember seeing the music video on television for the first time and was totally mesmorized by the way Michael danced. My parents were nervous at first when this video aired since it clearly had to do with gangs, but it wasn't graphic in any way and things were resolved. My brother and I would always try to imitate the moon walk. This was "The Dance" if I remember correctly. Everyone, everywhere was doing the moon walk and wearing the coveted glove that he wore ever so often. A very interesting trend and fad if you ask me.

My brother and I would always blast the song and dance around the living room like crazy to this ever popular song. When I hear it to this day it takes me back to the living room where I first heard the song. The particular dance moves that were in the music video were so much fun trying to learn. Especially for a 7 year old.

Michael Jackson was so young and so popular, it is so sad to see the state that he is currently in now and days. He certainly made a name for himself back then.

Remember when Weird Al Yankovich came out with the ridiculous version of Beat It? Unfortunately, it was called "Eat it"! Yeah the guy was and is a comedian but messing with a hit song from Michael Jackson was probably not a good idea.

I am sure if I was to rummage through my parents things that they accumulated through the years that the cassette tape would turn up! Probably not in the best shape but that would definitely bring back those fun memories. I remember it was white with black text. I am curious to see if I can bring this cassette tape back to the surface!
