Lindseycl | MEMORY FROM 1987

My sweet childhood song

LOCATION: Childhood home , Michigan

YEAR: 1987

TAGS: mother, father, Stevie Wonder, childhood, music

PUBLISHED: March 11, 2008

I was always very close to my mom and dad growing up.  My mom wanted to make sure she was close to her children as her own father didn't take the time to really care about his children.  Her home life as a child was an aweful experience and somthing that she would like to forget.  She was always worried that if she got married and had children that she would mirror her father.

She did everything in her power to make sure she was a loving mother to my brother and I.  I remember hearing "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder.  It's a precious song and I remember after hearing it my mom would always sing it to me.  She did this for years, and for some reason it always made me get the warm fuzzies and I felt really special.

I currently have been singing it to my little girls in hopes that it will give them those same warm, fuzzy feelings as I experienced as a child.
