In August of 2005 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. He thrived beautifully in my belly for all nine months when we were told that he was going to die at 18 weeks gestation. I was determined to see the pregnancy through. He was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 which is a chromosmal defect and one of the number one causes of miscarriages. Shortly after he was born full term weighing almost 9 lbs., he died 15 minutes after birth due to heart and lung complications. This was the most devasting thing for me and my husband and well as our family. A couple weeks after our loss, I was so depressed and in a fog I just felt like I couldn't function or even be a mother to our toddler daughter at the time. My mom and my aunt wanted to take me away on a short trip for some fun and a distraction from everything. I bought some new music to listen to and I came acrossed this album Seven Places. I had never heard of them but I really enjoyed listening to them. There was a particular song that really got to me and related strongly to my loss. It was called Even When, talking about our faith and feeling like we can't move on in life. It really helped me through my pain.
