Not out of state just up state, but far enough that we wouldn't be seeing each other often. We were in our 8th grade year and it was a hard and long goodbye. I cried myself to sleep everynight for a week until I coped with the idea my best friend would no longer be around anymore. We made plans for the summer for me to come and visit her. I was so excited I counted the days. It seems like yesterday that these events took place. When the summer finally arrived I was geeked. We left for our family trip to go see my best friend in the whole wide world. We squealed like little girls when we finally were face to face again after 8 long months a part. She showed us around her knew house and of course her bedroom where we mainly hung out and just talked. She pulled out this CD by Celine Dion which was just released at the time. She told me she had a favorite song on the CD that I just had to hear. It was "If You Asked Me To". I absolutely loved the song myself and vowed that I would buy the CD when I got home from my trip. Ever since then every time I hear that song I always think of my visit to my best friends new home. It takes me right back to her room where we shared memories. It will always be a special song to me even if I didn't know what it meant at the time.
