Miss USA pageant!LOCATION: Grand ole Opry Stage , Branson, MOYEAR: 2000TAGS: Branson, Missouri, tv, pageants, musicPUBLISHED: March 13, 2008I love watching pageants anywhere from the Miss Teen USA to the Miss Universe . Me and my friends would always make a sleep over out of them and pretend to be judges ourselves. We would write down who our favorites were and would have friendly bets on who would win the title. In 2000 I had received the news that my cousin Brooke from Idaho was going to be in the Miss USA Pageant. She had won the title for Miss Idaho USA and was on her way to the actual pageant! We were so excited for her. She had also wne Miss Idaho America in 1995 and appeared in the Miss America Pageant. Of course I got my friends together to watch this one. It was so exciting seeing an actual family member in a nationally televised event such as this. Carson Daly was the host and the musical guests were Brian McKight, Lou Begga, and Christina Aguilera. They did movie clips in the backround of the girls preparing for the pageant to Christina's song "What a Girl Wants". I really enjoyed the song and this artist who was starting to hit it big. I of course had to record this event with my cousin and keep it forever. I recently pulled the video out and watched it all the way through. It was so much fun reliving that memory!
