I am sure many of you had had the chance to see the Mandy Moore movie, A Walk To Remember. I am sure some individuals would prefer not to go there and say it was hokey or lame. I actually thought it was a very good movie but also very sad. Mandy Moore was this conservative christian girl raised by her overprotective father. She was a plain Jane and really didn't have any friends. She was always made fun of. She eventually somehow hooks up with the most popular guy in school who is far from her christian beliefs. She warns him not to fall in love with her. He dusts that notion off quickly thinking she is crazy. Eventually she is slowly getting to him without the guy even realizing it all that much and starts listening to christian music. One of the songs that was in the movie was Flood by Jars of Clay. This is an awesome song. I remember it came out in 1995 when I was a junior in high school. Everybody loved the song and you could hear it pretty much everywhere. The young man's buddy in the movie critizes him for listening to it. Eventually he does fall in love with Mandy Moore's character and he was warned. It turned out that she was in remission from Leukhemia and it had returned. He was helpless and desparate to do anything to save her. They ended up getting married in the summer and she died in the fall. I know, sad right? Basically it was neat to hear the song "Flood" in the movie as it was starting to change this wild young man. It was also neat to hear the song being used on secular programs as well. This song was by a christian band. They may never know the true impact the song was on so many people. Even the actors who aren't even christian believers.
