Goodbye High School!

LOCATION: School , Michigan

YEAR: 1996

TAGS: song, commencement, high school

PUBLISHED: April 5, 2008

It was my senior commencement! It was time to graduate and prove I was now an adult.  It was an exciting time yet it was a very scary time as well.  The protective barriers of being in the same school building for all 12 years was about to be broken down.  All the friends I grew up with were all going their separate ways.  At first we couldn't wait to graduate, but all of a sudden we were all beginning to get sad and realized we weren't going to see each other everyday anymore.

During the commencement there was a picture slide show of each student from birth to senior year.  This was possible because I went to a christian school and our graduating class was a grand total of 28.  Wow big class right?  Anyways The song that was being played in the backround during the slideshow was "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday", by Boyz II Men.  I remember tears flowing down my cheeks as I was watching it.  As I looked around you could see all my classmates looking a little worried and had the realization that this really was coming to an end.  We do have to say goodbye and it is going to be hard.

I haven't heard the song in ages.  I played the song earlier today and it made me flash back to those sad times of saying goodbye to high school forever.  High school was an awesome time for me, I know  not many can say that but I truly loved high school and I miss it like crazy.  If I could do it all over again minus the drama, I would!
