First Movie!LOCATION: Movie Theatre , MichiganYEAR: 2006TAGS: Disney, song, hot, cars, pregnant, summer, moviePUBLISHED: April 29, 2008
In the summer of 2006 I was pregnant and huge but my 3 year old daughter at the time and I were extremely bored on one super hot day. I remember that the Disney Movie Cars was released and I so wanted to see it. I wasn't sure how well a preschooler would do sitting in a theatre that long but it was worth a shot. We went in the middle of the day that way there wasn't a ton of people. There were more kids than anything. This was so exciting for her. She just couldn't wait to see her first movie at a theatre. To my shock and amazement she watched the whole movie. Did she sit the whole time? Of course not, as a preschool teacher I know that attention spans of this age group is pretty short and they need to move around as much as they can. With all of this in mind I made sure we sat at seats that were by than hand bars and no one else was in front of us. She had the whole isle where we were sitting to move about. She actually made a few friends and sat with them. It was too fun. She got to have her first small bag of popcorn with frozen drink. She felt like such a big girl. My favorite song in the movie was Rascal Flatts version of Life Is A Highway! I absolutely love it! The country version rocks for sure, much better than the original version of the song. Of course after seeing the movie the song became very popular and could be heard everywhere all the time. It was so cute everytime my daughter would hear the song she would flip out! THE CAR SONG MOMMA! I saved the movie ticket stub to put in her scrapbook and save forever. I will cherish this memory always!
