Taylor Hicks, this is a name I haven't heard of in a while. He was an American Idol winner but haven't heard any of his music since. I know that he was recently dropped from his label. What a shame and I wonder why. Probably because he didn't take off as an artist like everybody thought that he would. Originally, I did vote for him, I thought he was unique and brought something very different to American Idol. His gray hair definitely made its mark on the show as well. He definitely is that of a soul/blues singer. Soul patrol is what he would call it. He had these one of a kind facial expressions as he would sing and very different dance moves as well. It was neat when he played the harmonica once in a while to compliment and reinforce his musical style. I really enjoyed his version of Takin' It To The Streets! It was very different and left a Taylor Hicks mark on the song. I am disappointed that he didn't take off like most of us hoped that he would but things happen and many just crumble when they get into the business. Maybe Taylore Hicks will reinvent himself and return with gusto. Maybe he has a plan to approach this business in a way that will change his life in the years to come.
