My friend had talked about this band with a "totally hot" lead singer. I really didn't care, because we didn't have the same musical tastes. Well, I gave it a go and listened to the song, because I found out I actually had seen Ville Valo in my brother's heavy metal magazine and I thought that he actually was quite cute. This song made it for me. I remember obessing with the lyrics, and failed to understand how anyone else couldn't see the greatness of the song. Ville Valo also became my first fan girl experience, and my friend and I could talk about him for hours. I alsohave another memory concerning this song. I was chatting with this boy, when I found out that he also liked HIM, and we both just began yelling the lyrics to Wings of a butterflyout in caps lock in the chatroom together. Othersmust havethought we were crazy, but I just felt so hardcore.

Today, I don't listen that much to HIM anymore, because I like toexplorethe genre versability inside goth, and I must admit that HIM might be, eh, a little cliché. But it is great for starters, and they will always have a special place in my heart as the very first band. One of my other friends is still a great fan, and actually recently got a tatoo with a heartagram. It is very pretty, and even though she may not like HIM that much in the future, I still think it is a cool tatoo because I know the band have ment just as much to me as to her, and that it was something that formed her as a person. This spring my final exam was physichs and I was quit nervous in the morning, when I heard that Wings of a butterfly was on the radio. I rocked out with my airguitar, and I rocked at the exam getting an A+ I think that Ville Valo helped me that day:p
