music videos on computersLOCATION: Home , AmarilloYEAR: 1995TAGS: Weezer, ComputersPUBLISHED: April 2, 2008I was 13. I had just begun my exploration into music, and finally developing my tastes other than what my mom chose for me. She hated MTV, and eventually cancelled it, because of the "vulgar" bands like Nirvana, Metallica, and Pearl Jam. Around this time, we upgraded computers, FINALLY. I had spent years playing on my old Amiga or the 15lb "Laptop". This new computer had an AWESOME 33.6k modem, state of the art, and Windows '95. I remember playing around with the windows, and finding the video of Buddy Holly. Ha, I had finally found some more music that my mom couldn't take away from me by cancelling MTV. A couple weeks after we bought the computer, I came home from school, hoping to use the computer to look up codes for video games. "Wow, Cheat Codes on the internet?, They have everything on there." I walked into my house to see my mom sitting at the computer. Click, and I hear Buddy Holly playing. Oh No, I thought. I can't let her take Weezer from me too. I walked over, "What's going on, what did you do?" She says, "I don't know, but this video is Great." Shocked, "WHAT?" She replies, "Yeah, I remember Buddy Holly and Happy Days." At 13, the only thing worse than your parents taking something from you is when they like it. I lost Buddy Holly that day. Fortunately, my mom hated the rest of the album when I played it for her.
