Ybor City

It was my boyfriend’s birthday so for the weekend we headed to Tampa, Florida.  The trip played out like a screenplay from Hollywood.  We dropped the baby off at my mom’s on Saturday morning and then headed home to pack.  Once we were packed we headed out.  We listened to music on the drive, read some tabloid magazines while eating snacks and sipping sodas, and we had some real good laughs.  

I had set the table for what was one of our best trips ever.  We arrived at the hotel which had valet parking so we didn’t have to waste time looking for a spot to drop the car off.  I checked us in while he went and got us each an espresso and a pumpkin muffin.  We went up to the room and immediately started planning our next move.  We headed out to the trolley and landed in Channel Side…a great little shopping district just north of Ybor City.  We had a fantastic dinner at a throw back to the 50’s bowling alley and then ate some fine chocolates at the chocolatier next door for dessert.  Once finished enjoying all we could by Channel Side we headed to Ybor City.  We did some shopping at a vintage store and some serious contemplating on matching tattoo’s…. which we didn’t end up getting.  We found a quiet local pub offering $2 for a shot and a beer…which I hated but he enjoyed.  We had a couple of drinks and by that time we were both wiped and decided to head back to the hotel until we stumbled upon a little quaint cigar bar with a one man acoustic band.  We had several drinks and laughs and gazed at one another and then the singer wished my boyfriend a happy birthday and everyone applauded like they were all there to celebrate with us.  When the song he sang was Love is What I got all I could do was think of what a wonderful time we were having and that I could quite possibly live in this moment forever!!!
