Meghan | MEMORY FROM 1987 So That's RomanceLOCATION: My Living Room , LivermoreYEAR: 1987TAGS: Who's The Boss, Tony & Angela, Steppin OutPUBLISHED: April 25, 2008As most people who grew up in the eighties one of my favorite sitcoms was Who's The Boss. Who's The Boss was one of those classic sitcoms that was the perfect combination of good chemistry, great cast, and great writers. As a kid I loved the constant tension that existed between Tony & Angela. I still think they were one of the best sitcom pairings of the eighties. This is such a strange memory, but one that soars through my mind whenever I hear Joe Jackson's Steppin Out. There was an episode of Who's The Boss with a fantasy sequence in which Tony and Angela, dressed to the nines, danced in a beautiful misty fog, to this song. As a kid I remember thinking that it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Angela's dress was amazing and the electricity between them flowed as their feet glided through the mist. I don't know why exactly, but that dance to this song stayed in my mind. I have to say, it was one of the most romantic things I'd ever seen at that point in my young life. Over the years I catch this episode on reruns, and I always leave it on just so I can see those last two minutes of it. And of course, whenever I hear that spectacular synth lick on the radio, I am always transported. Transported to some deserted ballroom filled with mist and soft moonlight. Wearing a dress that shimmers like starlight, with a man whose feet are as light as air. Yes, that is what romance is. (The sequence is in the last two minutes of this clip)
