Meghan | MEMORY FROM 1991 My First KissLOCATION: Sonoma Truck, LivermoreYEAR: 1991TAGS: First Kiss, Rush RushPUBLISHED: February 10, 2008My first kiss was in the fall of 1991 in the cab of a blue Sonoma. I was 13 years old, he was 18. I'll never forget that moment. He had driven me up to a neighborhood where you could see the entire city, and the hills behind it. We were talking and talking, when there was a sudden stall in conversation. He reached over and held my hand, then began to stroke my arm. Just then Rush Rush, by Paula Abdul came on the radio.
He leaned over slowly and I closed my eyes. To this day I can still smell the Autumn air mixed with the smell of cigarettes and Strawberry water-coolers every time I hear those first few chords of that song. The feel of my heart pounding in my chest is so vivid it still makes me blush when I remember it. With one hand he grabbed me around the waist and pulled me closer, as the other hand gently brushed the hair from my face. All with Paula's romantic words pouring from the radio, adding an air of sweet romance to the perfect moment. It's not often our first kiss truly plays out like a scene from a movie. Thanks to Paula Abdul and one Autumn night, that's exactly how I'll always remember mine.
