Many lovers have set flames raging within my heart, yet if asked which flame burns the brightest, longest, or strongest, it would not be a personal relationship that set it going. If you guessed that the flame of music set alight the most enormous of flames, you would be close, but still incorrect in your assumption. Music does fire my heart, but it is the flame of love, truth, and nature that outlasts and overbears all others.

A tiny thrill as a new learning uncovers a solution to an old problem, a sparking burst as a revelation appears, shiny, bright, new truths, sighted in full glory, or perhaps just the warmth from knowing I am on the right path. When a theory that I have worked on concludes and the results match the findings of others who have traveled the same or similar pathway, I burn a little brighter within. Perhaps it is these flames of life that keep the flames of romance style love continuing, sometimes.

Playing Richard's album, when this track comes on I tend to consider a visualization procedure. The flame is symbolized in a visualization technique I occasionally use. I envision placing a burning candle with the letter B printed upon it in front of the head of a friend, pet, or stranger in need. This invisible action symbolizes my wish to assist the being to experience the inner truth and natural loving peacefulness that comes from my practice of Buddhism. I would never force my belief upon another being, but I would always offer the findings that I have made when they seek to find results and cannot find their own square one. Sometimes, words are ignored or trampled on, but a warm wish can make its way through. Just the warmth from the flame of love can be enough to bring a smile, sometimes.
