Before I had ever heard a single song by Donny Osmond, I was a fan. This came about my having a friend who was a fan. My friend told me that she had a poster of Donny on her bedroom wall that she kissed every night before she went to bed. This apparently meant that she would one day get to meet him in the flesh, and possibly even get married to him. To ten year old girls, this is a possibility that might actually occur. I therefore decided that I would also like a poster of the fellow on my bedroom wall. I proceeded to kiss it dramatically everytime my friend visitied my bedroom. The poster consequently wore out rapidly, but I was proud that I must have kissed mine more than my friend, as hers had not worn out by the time the mouth on my Donny Osmond poster was a soggy mess around a hole.

The actual music was not heard until much later in my life. It was the mid '90s before I actually heard a single song by Mr Osmond, in fact. Recalling the days of trying to kiss my poster to make meetings and dreams occur, I noticed a Donny Osmond release and grabbed a copy. I thought it was about time I actually heard his music. I was not as excited or impressed by the album as I had been by his poster in my childhood, but a few of the tunes hit my heart for a little while. I do not play the music any more, but I do recall one song above all others as standing out, Puppy Love. I have since learned that it is one of his more popular tunes, though way back in my original interest days he could have sung anything and I would still have made my poster soggy just trying to earn the right to meet him!
