I was getting into the Hippie scene many years after it had diminished. I liked the fashion of the era and was exploring the music, which I also enjoyed considerably. Naturally, the musical Hair cropped up amidst my explorations. I had heard this one song on radio, along with a comment linking it to the Hippie era that my interest was growing in. This lead to my wishing to hear all the music from this show.

I took the tram into Glenelg, where my son enjoyed a day at the beach. We both enjoyed a burrito for lunch, and I then popped into the music store. Alas, they did not have the album in stock. However, they were willing to order it in for me.

Returning the following week, my son and I enjoyed another day at the beach, meal from the Mexican take-out restaurant, and trip to the record store. This time, the shop staff was able to oblige. My order had arrived and I was handed the cassette. I paid, and then we took the tram back home.

Alas, on arrival, when inserting the tape and pressing the play button, I was not greeted with the Hippie sounds of the Hair musical. Instead, out shot Tori Amos! The next week, my son and I went to Glenelg once again. We once more encountered a day at the beach, the delights of the Mexican take-out lunch, and then entered the record store. Somehow, the absent-minded staff had inserted the incorrect tape in the correct casing. Finally, we went home with the correct music in the correct exterior. I was then able to hear the entire soundtrack.

This all stemmed from hearing that one song on the radio. Now, when I hear the song, I recall the incident that necessitated my son and I enjoy an extra day out - and an extra serve of delicious food.
