This song reminds me of a terror-moment in my high school days. I had been so bullied, teased, and treated wrong at one high school, that I simply refused to go. One day, I had had enough. I told my mother midst tears that I never wanted to go to school again, would be happy to study from books at home, but could not face going to that horrid place any more. My mother did not know what to do about me, but realized that the bullying was getting out of hand and that my misery was genuine.

Eventually, it was the first week of a new school year, and I was still adamantly refusing to go to school. My mother could not afford a private tutor, and home schooling was not heard of in those days in that place. My mother and a social worker had applied for me to attend a Church of England girls-only school, a few suburbs away. Lucky for me that I was home on that first day of a new term, forthe telephone rang saying that an interview would be arranged whenever we were available. My mother made the appointment for lunchtime and we took the bus immediately. I liked the new school, I was eager to learn, study, and make new friends - providing I was not bruised, bashed, kicked, and hit every single day here as well.

That afternoon, we bought the new uniform on my way home. The very next day, I took the bus to my new school, determined to enjoy it. I had to write an essay to determine which class I would be placed in, as we were graded according to our ability. I said I was medium-excellent, and this offered two possible classes. On being assigned my class, I joined it that lunch hour. To my horror, one of my enemies from the previous school was in my class!

The first day, she merely glared at me. The next two days she began to tread on my heels as we walked the corridor, and then kick me. I was so upset; it seemed that this school would be no different from the last. Wherever I schooled, I was to be kicked, hit, beaten and bashed. However, this school was very different after all. I reported her to the form teacher that next lunch hour. The teacher gave a no-name warning in form class, and I was never kicked again. In fact, a few days later, we had even become friends! I had been willing to forgive, and she had realized that I was no longer going to sit back and take it, so she had reverted into being rude to the teachers instead of picking on me.
