Keep on singing along

There have been numerous seasons in my life so far where I have been assaulted by punch after punch of bad luck, hardship, problems, or enemy attacks. Each time, I am going along fine when suddenly wham, something hits. Most people suffer the same thing, but I seem to have had extra power in those punches.

Samba In The Rain is one of those happy songs that keep you smiling when life stabs you with a dagger. Whether you have problems with employment, finances, society pressures and expectations, or simply life getting a little too difficult, this song can kept the equanimity afloat a little longer than simply falling down whenever you are pushed. It talks of staying right amidst the wrong, ignoring the pressure and staying high, staying true to reality amidst pressure to conform to a being that you do not feel comfortable becoming. It is about blowing a raspberry at the pressure put upon one by society to conform and dancing on through.

Sometimes it can pick me up and sometimes I fall down anyway, but it is a friendly song for pepping me up a little when life and society would otherwise squash me flat. Last year, I had a lot of troubles, so this song was played quite often.
