However, I must have heard it very early in my life, for by the age of ten I was trying to sing it myself. Later in my life, I purchased the album on which it appears, shortly after being reminded of the song when watching the movie of the same title. My main memory stems from summer vacations, which were invariably spent at my Great Aunt's home. I would always stay in her green room. It was a very old house, possibly Georgian, at least 100 years of age. On the third storey was the green room. Everything in it was green. The bedding, walls, ceiling, carpet, furniture... At the age of ten, I loved very bright fluro colors. Pink, orange, lime, yellow and mauve amongts my favorites, pale green rarely featured. For this reason, I used to sing all the songs I knew about my favorite colors to brighten up the dull environment. Yellow Submarine had obviously been heard a few times, but I did not know all the lyrics at this time. Therefore, I would start off with the first two lines of the song, and then trail into endless possibilities that my imagination conjured up, just so i could continue to sing. Eventually, I would burst out into the famous chorus, or as much of it as I knew at that time. Yellowness being my favorite reason for opting on this song. Many years later, I was reacquainted with the song and got to learn the proper lyrics!
