Kopaz | MEMORY FROM 1998

Technically my first memory

LOCATION: OLD OLD house , Maine

YEAR: 1998

TAGS: Come Out And Play

PUBLISHED: March 5, 2008

I remember when I first heard this song; I was around… let’s gamble for 7. I believe the first time I heard it, I was at my house, my mom was listening to The Offspring often at this point, and Come out and play was my favorite song. At the time, it eased me. You’re probably thinking for such a crazy song it’s impossible to be eased. I wasn’t into many of the newer bands and The Offspring changed my opinion of that quite drastically. All of the newer bands had kind of bad affect on me, I just could not relate to them at ALL. The lyrics were too… random and depressing. At least, at my age it was. I just didn’t know those words. I remember one part of the song that was embedded into my mind, “Come out and play.”, only because not ONLY was it the name of the song, but also I used to have to endure a tickle fest equal to the length of the song, courtesy of my mother and my aunt. Despite the constant tickle torture it was a good song, and for some odd reason my outside activity increased for months after the first time I heard this song.

jasenett said: The torture of being tickled while listening to Offspring what a great memory. It's very simple yet it has meaning to your life. You found calmness in a song that would normally be considered strange there is nothing wrong with that. (3/23/2008)
