Missed OpportunitiesLOCATION: A Greyhound bus stop , CalgaryYEAR: 1988TAGS: Bus, Concert, Bowie, Great AuntPUBLISHED: April 20, 2008In 1988 I went from Calgary to Edmonton to visit my great aunt for a weekend. I had a blast, she is a fun woman. But as I boarded the bus to head home, I was a bit sad and not because I was leaving my great aunt. When I got off the bus in Calgary, my parents were there to meet me. Once I had informed both of what happened that weekend my mother asked why I seemed so down. I said, "Because David Bowie was in Edmonton that night on his Glass Spider tour." My dad answered, "Why didn't you say something? We could have given you the money for tickets." I immediately tried to figure out if I had enough time to get back to Edmonton for the concert but I didn't. Darn it.
